Gloria Elizabeth Collins, Musical Director

Is a graduate of Philadelphia Musiacl Academy and Maryville College and has experienced a varied musical career as an educator, conductor and pianist. She has taught at both her alma maters as well as the Eastern Montana College of Education

Her operatic career began at 16 after graduating from high school, as a pianist for the Cosmopolitan Opera Company. Since then she has become a conductor and musical director of the Chestnut Hill Opera Company, assistant conductor and pianist for fourteen years with the Philadelphia Grand Opera Company, Dayton Opera, Toledo Opera and the Pittsburgh Opera Company, working with such conductors as Carlo Moresco, Anton Coppola, William Karp, Martin Rich and legendary stars such as Roberts Peters, Brigit Nielsen, Robert Merrill and Richard Tucker.

A lover of Light Opera and Musical Theater, Gloria was pianist for the summer productions for the Brandywine Music Box and Music Director for Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes and The Pajama Game for the Main Line Temple Theater Group. She was also the music director of The Fantasticks at The Hedgerow Theater, which had a successful run of two years.

Ms. Collins was pianist for a duet recital in Diamond Head, MS. in March 2003, and recently the music director for Amici Opera’s Giovanna d’Arco and Wolf-Ferrari’s Jewels of the Madonna and Verdi's Il Corsaro . She was the music director for Concert Operetta Theater’s premiere production,The Gypsy Princess, as well as for The Duchess of Chicago, The Music of Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, Music of the American Operetta and Operetta in ¾ Time!
